why does my 80GB ipod classic not work with the new itunes?

ive had the ipod for almost a year now and its worked fine with the old itunes (itunes 7). as soon as i upgraded to the new itunes 8 my computer does not show my ipod in itunes. ive tries numerous ipod usb cords but noting seems to work. can you help me?

My guess is that you need to update your Ipod. I’d suggest going back to ITunes 7 and seeing if you have a hardware update available to your Ipod and if all else fails just keep ITunes 7.
