Hi, does autofocus work when zooming during videotaping? The coins looked rather fuzzy….

@maxxxrobert Hey there! There doesn’t seem to be any autofocus when using video camera but we’ve only had the N8 for a little while, so if there is, we probably didn’t activate it.

@soyacincautv aha, ok. Well, even if not, i think this device will be my next mobile. The video qualitiy is still amazing for a phone….

Why had you have to zoom at some close up object instead of zooming at the other side of the room? >_>

@soyacincautv actually, there is NO kind of autofocus or tap-to-focus on the N8. It uses a technology called Active Hyper-Focal System. This means that anything between the range of 60cm to infinity will appear sharply focused. If you get closer than 60cm, it will get out of focus. This tech was used to provide a really smooth video as most of us shoot things that are further than 60 cm

@Panhead1993 hey thanks for the info.

@Rafaelinux no reason. We’ll make sure that we’ll do a long focus zoom when we get a review unit to play around with.

@maxxxrobert can’t argue with you on that. It is a good phone but not quite up to par with some of the best Android devices out there. More findings will be revealed when we get a review unit.

@soyacincautv no problem :)

@soyacincautv I was complaining for the sake of it :P, there was no need to answer such a stupid message :)

BTW, take a look at other N8 video samples available around.
N8′s video is way, way better than all the droids around, and evidently better than the iP4 too. Seriously.

@Rafaelinux oookaaay…yeah the N8 camera is good but we haven’t try the camera on the iPhone 4 yet. So can’t really say which one is better.
