Part 2 of 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews DJ Hero for Xbox 360. This game is also available for Playstation 3 PS3, PS2 and Nintendo Wii. DJ Hero is more than just Guitar Hero with rap, this is a completely different game using many of the same concepts and gameplay mechanics that we’re familiar with in Guitar Hero. Published by Activision, DJ Hero works with an awesome DJ turntable that has buttons and a crossfader allowing gamers to DJ along with more than 90 tracks included in the game (more tracks are available for download). This CGR review of DJ Hero has gameplay from DJ Hero showing game play from the Xbox 360 version with achievement points being unlocked. The Xbox 360 version and PS3 version of DJ Hero should look nearly identical. DJs and turntables are unlockable in the game. You can play as DJ Jazzy Jeff, Grandmaster Flash, DJ AM, DJ Z-Trip, DJ Shadow and Daft Punk. The song collection is eclectic and spans many styles of music like 80′s pop and modern hip hop. Play tracks mixed with songs from the Beastie Boys, Beck, Daft Punk, Gary Numan, Gwen Stephani, Black Eyed Peas, Jay-Z, 2 Pac, Eminem, Vanilla Ice, Young MC and more. DJ Hero has incredible production value with bass-heavy music that is well produced and delivered in the game through Dolby Digital (or normal sound). These vintage Pansonic speakers, circa late 1960s or maybe early ’70s, are ruggedly built with wooden cabinets wrapped with vinyl upholstery and aluminum edges. I demonstrate them using the external speaker outputs of my early ’80s Sanyo M9935K, with AM, FM, and two bands of Shortwave.
