Classic Game Room reviews CASTLEVANIA HARMONY OF DESPAIR for Xbox 360 from Konami. This side scrolling platformer has old school style 2D gameplay with some creative new elements like the ability to zoom the screen in and out with the right analog stick. Co-op multiplayer gameplay is available over Xbox Live and you can play as numerous characters from the Castlevania games of yesteryear. This CGR review of Castlevania Harmony of Despair has gameplay from Castlevania Harmony of Despair showing Castlevania 2-D platforming side scrolling game play in action.

@MrSaturn33 Konami specialise in putting CV games on random platforms without any logic. To town ever CV game you’d have to own about every console.

@yeroc1337 The developers have a.) left out some obvious features and b.) promised to support the game with lots of paid DLC. You don’t have to be your generation’s most brilliant analytical mind to figure out what happened to the Belmonts.

@MagFlare You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about, nor do you know what I’m talking about. I miss the old style Castlevania games, back to the basics, and this lacks several features as well as the main line of characters… The Belmonts, mainly Simon Belmont..

@yeroc1337 Chris Morris from Portrait of Ruin is a cousin of the Belmonts or something and has a whip, but you’re RIGHT, shouldn’t Simon be the first one they thought of? Oh well, thats why there’s DLC.

@yeroc1337 Dude. What I was saying — and I’m pretty sure I was entirely unambiguous here — is that the Belmonts were left out so that they could be released later as paid DLC. And, indeed, Julius Belmont has already been announced. I don’t know what you thought I was saying, but it sure pissed you off…

@MrSaturn33 Most of the Castlevania games have been tailored toward Nintendo, if PlayStation 3 gets it. Then Nintendo Wii should too!

@MrSaturn33 actually it was rumored if the game sold well on the 360, it will be released on the ps3 to plus the 360 needs some castlevania titles.
